Note: Schroders has two classes of share: SDR and SDRC.
SDR shares allow voting at shareholder meetings and have better liquidity (more shares are traded each day) which makes them more attractive to institutional investors such as fund managers.
SDRC shares provide an identical ownership share of Schroders (e.g. the dividend per share is the same as SDR) but they typically trade at a discount to SDR because of the lower liquidity and lack of voting rights.
Schroders was originally added to the model portfolio in March 2020 as SDR shares. These were then sold in October 2020 at 2705p for a small capital gain and the proceeds immediately reinvested into SDRC shares at the significantly lower price of 1893p.
